Hello! My male bunny, 2 years old, started lifting his tail up and down recently. He never did it before, now he does it few times a day, he would lift it up and down up to 10 times than stop. Does anyone know what it means? Thank you!

We’re going to need some more context. What is he doing when he’s doing this? Is he using the litter box? Is he alerted to something?

When my bunny is wary of something new, he will crouch down and extend his head forward trying to sniff the offending object. Sometimes when he does this, his tail will move up and down.

            Thank you for your reply!

No, I didn’t mean exactly like that. He always lift gis tail when peeing and also like you said, when he is curious, he would lift it up too.

But this is something really new to me, he would do that without anything specific happening. Yesterday he was laying and once he stood up he started doing that, other day he was cleaning himself then started doing it, without really doing anything else.

Hmm… did you look down there? Could his scent glands be clogged? Or maybe the area is bothering him for some reason? I could see a rabbit moving their tail if they are getting a sensation back there.
