My almost 6-month old bun Oliver has been eating his regular poops, seemingly with increasing frequency (a couple every day this week versus maybe every other week a month ago). He seems to purposefully go outside his (grated) litter box so he can then eat them. I’ve read some conflicting things whether or not this is a problem/whether or not his diet is insufficient? He eats his cecotropes (and hay, pellets, and greens) just fine and his poops all look normal.

It happens. I wouldn’t be overly worried. Yes, he could be “craving” something… but he probably just likes his poop.

My boys have done this occasionally too, especially when they were younger. As long as his weight is good and he eats other food normally I wouldn’t worry too much!
