My winter break for university is from this Friday to around the first of January (when I’ll be moving back in). I live about an hour from my house when I’m in the dorms at my college. I want to be home for the holidays and see my family, but obviously I’d need to take Milo with me. Is this too short of a time to bring him back? Should I just stay at my dorm and not move him? I don’t want him to get too stressed from moving there and back again.

Its not too short time imo. Its 3 weeks, plenty of time for him to settle in and enjoy the holidays with you.

I agree, 3 weeks is plenty of time for him to settle and 1 hour is not a long drive at all.

I usually like to keep the bun’s litter box slightly dirty when I move them to a new place. Having it already smell like them helps them adjust pretty quickly. 🙂

I agree, I don’t think you need to worry.

And he’d be fine moving back up here after the 3 weeks are over? Sorry, just double checking to make sure i don’t misinterpret!

It’s only an hour each way. As long as you keep the setup the same (as much as possible, anyway), he should be OK staying there for 3 weeks and then going back.

Yes he will be fine! I’ve often had to take my buns to a pet sitter’s house for anywhere from one to three weeks. They are much more adaptable than you’d expect. 🙂

I think its fine too. Back in my uni days I used to do just this! My buns would travel every xmas and summer for a vacay. We did this for two years, 3 hour drive. To be honest with the exception of the car journey they loved it because our families house was much nicer for them to play in than out little uni house and then coming back they would be very excited about the fimilar space. The first one or two times we travelled them it would take them a day to settle in and eat properly so that’s something to note but with a littl extra attention they were fine 🙂

I think he will be just fine. I had to take my bun on a 2 hour drive just 2 weeks after having her which i was very nervous about as I didn’t know how she’d cope, but she flopped and slept most the way! However, I only stayed there for less than 3 days before I had to go back home so she didn’t get the time to settle in properly but I think 3 weeks is enough for Milo to get comfortable.
