Hey everyone. I’ve been looking online for information regarding whether or not rabbits can catch Covid from people. Most of the information that I’ve found says that while rabbits can technically become infected with Covid, they will not show any symptoms of it and cannot get sick or die from it. Does anybody know if this is true? Has anybody had Covid and interacted with their bunny and they were fine?

There have been no documented cases of natural infections. They proved in a lab setting that it was technically possible for the virus to replicate in the sinuses of a rabbit, but the rabbits in the experiment did not exhibit any symptoms. Keep in mind the rabbits were artificially inoculated with the virus as well. If COVID was a real concern with pet rabbits, then I think we would have heard something by now. We would have seen reports of pet rabbits becoming sick after their owners were sick. But this hasn’t happened.
