Hi fellow bun parents,

Puff is an 8yr old mini lop who has been quite healthy for the most part. A few days back we noticed decreased appetites hence started feeding her critical care.

We noticed some weird white stuff on her lower incisors, and it feels hard almost like calcium buildup. Initially we suspect it might be pus from an infection site. It’s hard to describe, but we think her tongue movements are different from before, more sticking to one side when we fed her.

We took her to a rabbit-savvy vet today, did x-ray etc. The vet noticed some minor spurs on Puff’s molars and trimmed them down. Nothing else was abnormal otherwise – the vet said there was no abscess based on the radiograph. He has not seen anything like the buildup before and suspects it might not be the root cause of Puff’s decreased appetite.

We too are hoping that it’s just molar spurs causing some discomfort and are monitoring Puff’s conditions hoping she will recover, but at the same time want to prepare for the worse in case the root cause is something else.

Has anyone seen similar issues before? Any input is much appreciated!
