Hello, I’m wondering if anyone knows what breed of rabbit this might be? We adopted him today and the shelter said they were unsure and just calling him an “American”. He is huge, about 9 pounds and so friendly and sociable. Thanks 😊

Is he full grown? The ears and face shape say Flemmie.

Hard to tell based on the photo angle, but there are some flemmie-like shapes there. Depending on age, he may do some more growing.

Here is the photo from the other thread (I’ll delete that one). We’re still trying to figure out the photo uploading problem.

“The vet who neutered him for the shelter apparently said he is between 1 and 6 years old. He is 9 pounds, super friendly and calm. Thanks!”

Fawn and sandy are common colors for Flemmies. I’m still going with that. Perhaps he is a large breed mix. Flemmie x something else?

There is a less common breed called Palomino. They come in two colors: Golden and lynx. Your bunny’s ears and facial features don’t seem to fit as well though.

He is super cute! I agree he looks like a Flemmie, but not quite big enough to be fully Flemmie, so prob mixed with something else. 🙂

New Zealand is another big breed that comes in a lot of colors.
