Can you provide more detail? Was the eye been weeping prior to this? Were there crusts? Any swelling or lumps (like an abscess)?

Obviously, I’m not a vet. But just from this picture, it resembles an atypical syphilis infection.

Hi thankyou for replying he’s around 1 year old when I got him from the petstore adoption they said he’d had previous eye  problems but didn’t  specify what, and said he was healthy and his eye had been successfully treated, he is eating and drinking fine,he hasn’t come into contact with any other rabbit,

Rabbit syphilis can be contracted at birth and can remain asymptomatic for literally years before it shows symptoms, so him not being around other rabbits does not necessarily rule out atypical syphilis.

I’d be curious in how it was “treated” before — if the skin irritation/sore is the result of weepy eye, some assessment may be needed to distinguish what’s causing the weepy eye: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Conjunctivitis

There is a syphilis blood test (treponema titer) that can be run to see if your rabbit has syphilis as well.
