My holland lop have been shedding a lot these days and i see new patches of fur have grown on her back. But what worries me is that there are some bald patches. And the bald patches itself dont have flaky skin but along her spine line there are many dandruff looking flakes.

The dandruffs dont move so i dont think its walking dandruff. Is it normal to have dry skin and have flaky skin while shedding AND have bald patches..?

It is difficult to say, because a rabbit can have some dandruff when they shed. Typically with fur mites, the hairloss is concentrated to areas where the mites fester, such as between the shouldblades and just above the root of the tail.

A rabbit can shed in patches.

I think you should keep an eye on this. If you see more dandruff or if you can feel “scabs” with your fingers (the scabs tend to be skin colored and are easier to feel than see), that would be indications of a mite infestation. Revolution (selamectin) or ivermectin are the best antiparasitics for rabbits.

while were on the subject, here’s our standard warning: Never use any compound containing fipronil on a rabbit. Fipronil can be deadly toxic to rabbits. End of standard warning!
