my bunny is 7 years old, I have had him since he was a few months old. Recently, as in the past three or so days, he has been bobbing his head to the side, then quickly adjusting it back to looking forward. It looks like his eye is also moving (as if he was looking behind him before he moves it back forward). I’m very concerned since google says it’s a neurological issue. He has also been doing an increased amount of turns, where he just hops 360° Please anyone if you could help it would be greatly appreciated.

This looks like scanning. But the not being able to hop in a straight line part is concerning.

If the head goes from one side to the other at the same pace, it could be scanning, which is normal. It’s what rabbits do to see things that are in front of them with both eyes.

If the head is moving slowly to one side and then quickly back, it could be nystagmus; that’s most likely what google told you. Nystagmus is a neurological issue that can be caused by e cuniculi or a middle ear infection.

360 degree jumps contradicts that though, since he couldnt really do jumps like that if his balance were off. Does his overall balance seem good?

ETA: I didn’t see the video until now. How does he seem otherwise? Any kind of balance issues at all?

Take your buns to the vet! This exact thing happen to my 12yo Clara and she had an ear infection. It could also be from ecuniculi. Regardless, you’ll need to see a vwt for both. Your buns will be put on antibiotics, and all should be good. My buns twitchy eyes/head never went away, but geta much worse when she is stressed or not feeling well.

              Hope this helped!
