Hi all, my bunny is a 1-year old lion head mix and is on the smaller side. We took her to the vet last month and they weighed her to be 3.5 pounds. I believe when she was around 4-5 months, she was 3.8 pounds.

The vet didn’t mention anything about her weight, but I can feel her spine, hip bone, and ribs pretty easily. The spine isn’t sharp but I can definitely feel the bumps and also each rib. The hip bone is easy to feel as well and it’s jutty. I’m also concerned why she lost weight since she was a “baby”; is this normal?

I feed her 1/8 cup of oxbow adult pellets and also unlimited timothy hay. I attached a picture but it probably won’t help much cuz of all her floof.

Hmm, I think it would help to get more data points on her weight. Since the vet didn’t mention anything, I would start weighing her every couple weeks at home. If her weight is stable, I don’t think you need to worry. If she’s continuing to loose weight, you should mention it to your vet since you just saw them. They might suggest you just increase her pellets a bit.

In my honest opinion, I think her weight is fine as long as it is stable, considering the small size of Lionheads.

I would just watch her weight very carefully.
