I purchased an AeroGarden indoor garden to grow fresh lettuce for my 10 lb Ginger.
Store produce is not consistent these days.

The first crop was mixed heritage greens, which she has loved.
I am ready to remove the first crop and start a new batch of the classics (romaine, red, green, etc.)

The lettuces bolted after awhile but continued to produce good leaves.
Can I give her the leftover stems (probably ok) and the roots (not so sure about these)?
One source says yes to stems and roots but no one else mentions them.

        Ginger thanks you!

        !

I grow lettuce every summer, and when the plants bolt I keep giving the bolted stems and leaves and flowers to my buns. I’ve never given the roots though, but I cant find any mention of them being toxic.

I’ve found bolted lettuce to be more popular than regular leafy lettuce with my buns. Its way too bitter for a human to be interested, but buns seem to really like bitter flavor.

          Ginger is adorable! 🥰

I don’t have anything to add, just want to echo that Ginger is so beautiful!

I don’t think it will hurt anything.
