        Hello everyone!

I have a rabbit who started making “snuffly” noises today. It sounds like he has a stuffy nose- a bit like a clicking, congested noise when he breathes.

He has always had some nose noises- he snores when he sleeps, he sneezes every so often. The vet has always said it’s fine as there’s never been any discharge. He’s half lop, so it may have something to do with his nose shape.

He’s making snuffly noises, but no discharge at all on the nose. His eyes are clear and discharge free as well. He’s eating greens and hay, pooping and peeing normally, and is behaving normally (running around, flopping on his side, digging etc)

Any advice? Should I try to get him to a vet or monitor him and see if it clears up?

        thanks!

It’s unusual for a snuffly nose to just clear up on its own. It’s either a URI or a chronic problem (allergies, kinked sinuses due to face shape, tooth root problems, etc.). This doesn’t sound like an emergency, but you should have a vet do a more thorough investigation to rule out anything serious.

I agree that it should be checked out by a rabbit savvy vet since it changed suddenly.
