My baby girl, guddu had her 2nd shot of ivermectin yesterday and today i noticed a pink and white lump on the same spot the syringe was pushed. the lump is hard and doesn’t hurt when touched, her activities are all normal. but it’s weirdly swollen and i don’t know what to do. rabbit savvy vets are hard to find in my country and the only one in this city is very far away. it’s hard to travel all the way there because of covid.

can anyone tell me what is it? will it go away on it’s own or should i get her checked with the vet?

Rabbits can develop irritation, swelling, and even sterile abscesses after an injection. Do you have a picture?

here’s a picture. i don’t know if you can see clearly though. the swelling has reduced a bit today and there’s less pinkishness around the area. just a little white lump. some rabbit experts told me to monitor for 2/3 days and if it gets worse check with a vet.

It looks like a reaction at the injection site. If the swelling is going down, then that’s good. I agree that you should watch it to make sure it continues to improve.

Okay, I’ll keep monitoring her. Thank you so much for your help! 💖
