My bunny got spayed 18 days ago. Since the spay, she’s dealt with numerous health issues. First she wasn’t eating, pooping or moving for the first 4 days. Then, she started developing scabs under her arms. I’ve been to the vet numerous times, and between 5 or so visits they gave her subcutaneous fluids, numerous injections, a new pain medication (because they thought the original one they sent me home with first wasn’t working), and baytril. Two weeks later, she seems to be back to normal, she’s eating/drinking and pooping normally and is pretty active but not as active as before the spay. However, she still has scabs under her arms that just don’t seem to be going away. I haven’t changed anything in her surroundings; food, water, litter (paper based), and her enclosure has a towel on the surface, other than that she free roams on my carpet. And this has remained the same since before the spay I went to the vet again today and they gave me a solution to soak the scabs with, and more baytril. . So we have no idea where the scabs came from or when we can expect them to heal. The scabs are restraining her from grooming her face and being as active as she used to be. This has been the most frustrating and stressful situation. Has anyone else ever dealt with this? If so, please feel free to leave tips or something to ease my mind because I am so worried for her!!
