Hi there everyone!
Im back seeking help once again:(
Poor Annie… she has really been through the ringer lately. (Little bit of a back story… She was spayed April 4th. As well soon after the spay…she was showing signs of ear discomfort. I took her to the vet not once… not twice… but by the third time she vet finally diagnosed her with an ear infection in her right ear (after misdiagnosing her with a fugal infection:/ …besides the point).)
After being diagnosed with a right ear infection, I treated Annie with surolan drops for 2 weeks (in both ears).
Within the past couple days I have noticed that Annie seems lethargic, and has been laying flat most of the day. I brought her back to the vet today for a scheduled check up to make sure the right ear cleared up… and the vet gave me the news that her left ear is now “infected”. As well, that Annie has lost 2 ounces within 2 weeks. The vet explained that it looked like “white debris”. She did not swab it as she said it was to risky because Annie was moving around quite a bit. The vet directed me to continue treating her with the surolan drops in the left ear for another week. As well as prescribed an oral pain medication.
I left today with an unclear diagnosis, as the vet was not able to tell me if this left ear “debris” was another infection… or possibly pasturella.
I am very concerned with the fact that she has lost weight too…
I am not confident that she is being with the best method… After the vet visit today, I have booked Annie in with another vet, to have a second opinion tomorrow.
She has been eating, drinking and pooping well so this all is not adding up to me.
Thanks in advanced!
