Vet said Walter is thin, she’s always been slight.

She eats well though, so any particular food suggestions?

How big of a pellet ration does she get? Usually a small increase in pellets is enough.

I’m pretty generous with the pellets.

Since she’s always been on the thin side, I’m thinking if I can’t get some weight on, blood work may be in order.  Wish I had thought to have the vet do it today.  I didn’t think of it til I had her home.

How old is she? Just wondering if she’s old enough to be worried about reproductive cancers…

Well, supposedly she was born Jan. 1, 2021.

Is there any way to tell if she’s older?  Maybe they “dumped” a non producing female on the first sucker?

                That would be my luck.

                Regardless, I love her!

Vets can sometimes get a sense based on the teeth and the way the hips are. Young buns tend to have their back feet more parallel, and their feet tend to turn out a bit as they age. It wouldn’t be exact, but could get you in the ball park of young, vs. middle aged, vs. senior.

When my Wick was considered underweight, I was told to supplement his daily diet with Critical Care. So once in the morning and once at night, I would feed him as much Critical Care as he wanted (thankfully he really liked it). He would eat like, 8 syringes and then hop away with literally a full belly I could see sway back and forth. We did this for a week and he got in range by that time.

I read an article about guessing she.

From everything I read, looks like she is indeed an adolescent.

                          Critical Care ordered.

Wish it didn’t have so much soy in it.  Ugh, soy and females, usually not good combo.

Hopefully won’t need it for too long.

I’ve also used the recovery food from Sherwood (I have both on hand because some bunnies prefer one or the other), so you might look into that one if you are trying to avoid soy. Bonnie and Cooper both seem to really like it. 🙂

Trying some oats, more fruit, will see how that goes
