Do litterboxes with a grid on top that the bunny sits on work? Do bunnies use it even though they aren’t sitting directly on the litter like do they still know what it’s for?

Can someone who has one share if your bunny knew how to use it right away?

My rabbits have never had trouble. It’s less about the presence of litter and more the presence of a secure place (i.e. box with sides) and hay that will trigger a rabbit to poop and pee in a spot!

Yes, my Masha used a litter box like that all her life, and we never had trouble. We just potty trained her how everyone does, and it worked. 😀
