Hi! So, I’ve been feeding my bunny Market Medley for years and I recently found out that it isn’t a very good brand to be getting. So I want to switch! But I’m having trouble looking for a good brand… I had seen some stuff about how wheat middlings and soy are bad for rabbits, so I wanted to try finding brand without those things and also pellets that weren’t alfalfa based. It’s been really difficult…

I’m debating switching to Science Selective Naturals Grain-Free Rabbit Food, which is timothy-based and lacks wheat middlings…. but has soybean hulls, meal, and oil in it… also flaked peas and pea flour. There also isn’t much in it, so I’m kinda worried about it not having enough nutritional value…

I had seen a lot of people on here recommending Oxbow but I have no idea what bag to go with (Theres so many!) and even if there’s a brand of food that fits what I’m going for… I do trust Oxbow for the most part though, I’ve been feeding it to my chinchilla for years because it was recommended to me by a vet.

Anyway, TL;DR does anyone know any brands of rabbit food that are timothy based, grain-free, and healthy??? It would be really helpful, I am open to suggestions and advice. 🙂

Here is a comparison chart that might be helpful: http://www.therabbithouse.com/diet/rabbit-food-comparison.asp

As you can see, the pellets you have selected actually meet all of the requirements for fiber, protein, etc. Other popular brands like Oxbow and Sherwood are still good, the percentages are just a teeny bit off on a few things.

Oxbow Garden Select is my food of choice.  No wheat, corn or soy.

I use the rabbit, guinea pig and hamster versions for the crew.

Thank you, I’ve been seeing that food floating around a lot!! I think I’ll try out the Science Selective rabbit food first and if I have an issues with that, I’ll try the Garden Select ^^
