Hello everyone  I just joined this page  I got this bun about a week ago.. some pictures are from his previous home

I wore gloves because when I got him as soon as I touched him I broke out in hives  he had horrible fleas  If you zoom into the photo of my hand on his back you may see the fleas when I was parting his fur

does anyone know what breed he may be? My neighbors guessed Flemish Giant x lion head  he’s approx 10-12 pounds  a little smaller than my purebred Flemish Giant  he has really dark blue eyes  if that helps any

btw his name is Harvey, by request of my father

          He’s so cute!

He looks like he has some lion head in him. Maybe a lionhead mixed with one of the giant breeds? He doesn’t look like a Flemish to me, but he is large!

I’ve never seen a bunny with such tiny ears. People keep saying a dwarf x lionhead but wouldn’t he be tiny if so? I’m not very familiar with bunny breeds so it’s hard for me to guess. I was wondering if maybe this? A checkered Giant but again why tiny ears?

I’m looking at his fur texture. Was he clipped? Maybe he’s an angora mix.

His fur wasn’t clipped that I know of.

I doubt they would do that. His previous owners fed him dog and cat feed and didn’t care for him. 😥 I don’t see why people would treat a bun that way

The fur texture definitely looks different. That’s why I was thinking wool was mixed in there. Lionheads, however, are very diverse in coat texture and appearance.

He doesn’t look like a checkered giant to me at all (not the right body shape, coat texture or pattern, ear size or head shape). His color pattern can be found in many different breeds though.

Could be something like a lionhead (or an angora or wooly, as LBJ10 suggested) crossed with something like a New Zealand. New Zealand rabbits can be pretty big (avg 10-12 lbs), are pretty common, and have a range of coat colors.

Oh that’s a good thought Dana! NZs come in a broken pattern. So yeah, maybe NZ x Angora or NZ x Lionhead.
