Hi all! I got my two girls spayed 4 days ago and everything is going great. They’re eating and drinking and poops are all normal! They’re even being angels about taking their pain medication. However when my girl Brandy stood up on her hind legs today, I saw the incision and it looked like a sac filled with blood? The blood was UNDER the skin, not scabbed. She hasn’t been picking it or anything… Is this normal?

Unfortunately I am not experienced with seeing a female through recovery but I think calling the vet is always the safest choice in this case, especially since you have a picture.

I’m unable to view the picture, but your description sounds concerning.

From the picture alone it doesn’t look too alarming, but if it seems swollen or fluid filled to you, then call your vet (especially if it seems to have changed quickly). She could have pulled an internal suture.

I can see the photo now. I agree. It doesn’t look that bad.
