Once again I’m sorry for posting so much. Anyway I’ve noticed Thumper drinking a lot of water (at least I think so, he had a bowl that held 1 cup of water and when I check on it later it was completely gone and there was no spilled water anywhere) since November of 2020 but he’s not peeing all the time but because it’s gone on for a little while I was wondering if I need to take him to the vet or not.

I would take him to the vet.  Drinking a lot can indicate multiple things, including a kidney problem, especially if he isn’t peeing more along with it. Sometimes bunnies with dental pain also will drink extra.

Sorry for the late reply. My dad and I changed the litter in his litterbox the other day and my dad said it was “soaked” but I still haven’t seen him pee a lot. I’m also noticing that he’s been eating a lot more, should I still be worried? I’ve been keeping a log of how much he drinks and it’s more than a cup within a 10-12 hour period, one day he drank 2 cups of water within an 11 hour time frame. My mom said to call the vet tomorrow if he hasn’t been doing better or got worse since the vet wasn’t in when I made my post. Should we still call and see what they say?

Well, eating a lot of hay will make a bun drink more water. I do think it wouldn’t hurt to call the vet though.

The fact that it is a big change from what you are used to means it’s prob worth looking into. And 2 cups in 11 hours is a lot.

So sorry for the late update! Took Thumper to the vet and they did a blood and urine test and the blood test came back fine and the urine test showed that there was some white blood cells however the vet didn’t find that concerning and said he’ll be fine without medication. Some days he’s still drinking over 2 cups of water and other days it’s about a cup or a bit less.

Could it be a minor kidney infection? White blood cells usually suggest an infection of some kind.

She didn’t say, just that there was some white blood cells and that he’d be fine without medication
