I have to travel to visit relatives for the day and will be gone for about 9-10 hours. Will it be safe to leave my bun on her own as she is a free roam bunny? Or should I put her in a bunny lodge and pick her up the next day?

I don’t think 9-10 hours is too long. Just as long as you leave plenty of hay out for your bunny. Is she 100% free roam? Or does she have a place she goes at night? If there is a place where she can be corralled, that would probably be better.

I think taking her somewhere for a day would be more stressful than it’s worth, to be honest. I would look for ways to keep her home and in familiar surroundings.

            Agree with LBJ 🙂

It can feel bad to be gone that long when your bunny isn’t used to it, I know that. We decided to celebrate Sinterklaas with my boyfriend’s parents last year, and it was the first time in 3 years that I was away from home for more than 4 hours.

I was hesitant to leave our senior bun alone for 12 hours, so I asked a neighbour to give him some pettings and attention halfway through the day.
When we got home our bunny wasn’t angry as I’d feared. He wanted cuddles, but nothing out of the ordinary.

This was a luxury of course, because many people leave their buns at home while going to work. I don’t know if you have someone who lives nearby who can give your bun some attention, but it may help.

Agree with the others, it should be fine but I would have her locked up somewhere safe if possible. You know they’ll take an opportunity like this to wiggle their way to an electrical cord and try to burn the house down. 😉
