Hi everyone, so today my bun Flopsie and I were cuddling on my bed; after he got up to run around there was a small wet spot on my comforter about the size of a quarter. I googled and it ways he could have a tooth or gum issue, but I checked his gums and they are a light pink and his teeth don’t look over grown. He is also eating like normal and his chin doesn’t feel wet.  I don’t know what could cause this or if it is just something that he does.

Did he just drink water before cuddling? Rabbits can really get their chin/face wet from drinking. If there’s no wetness/dampness at the corners of his mouth, I would not worry about it.

To note, when we think about drooling due to dental problems, it is usually the back teeth that are causing issues. The back teeth cannot be viewed without the proper equipment, so just keep in mind that even if the front teeth look fine, drooling due to overgrown back teeth can still be a possibility (and it definitely not uncommon for rabbits to experience).

I’m honestly not sure if he drank water right before. I was also just thinking that since bunnies body temperatures are naturally higher, it could be his breath and forming condensation when it touches the bedding. And its good to know that the back teeth would be the problem, thank you.
