I noticed my rabbit seemed to be trembling in his hut. His body was vibrating. He then zoomed out of the hut after I pet him into the litter box and laid down squishing his stomach. I moved him and he just stayed there which he NEVER lets me do.  The part that really made me think he’s sick is that I put a banana treat In front of him and he ignored it. He ALWAYS jumps just from hearing the bag.

Just this morning he was running around playing.
Just now he got out of the hut and is stretching a lot and sitting there. I gave him a piece of the treat and he took it. Not too long after that, I went over to pet him and he went to the hut and is backing away. I put another piece  of banana in front  of him and he ignored it. He even let me hold him without trying to escape which is odd.

I don’t know if maybe his stomach is upset ?

Pressing his stomach on the floor sounds like he has gas. Do you have Simethicone (baby gas drops)? It works very well to get rid of gas quickly and is totally safe to give to bunnies. You can get it over the counter. I usually give 1 ml every hour until I see improvement, it doesn’t usually take more than two doses.

If you don’t have any at home I would go out and get some right away if possible. It’s important to get him eating again quickly, a rabbit who doesn’t eat for 12 hours or more can quickly slip into GI stasis.

I just noticed a lot of poop is  coming out his but as he is laying down.
He turned away from me to lay the opposite way pressed down In the hut.

a lot of poop coming fast out of his but

              Does that mean something?

Are the poops dry, hard pellets like normal or is it more wet like diarrhea? If it’s diarrhea it’s an emergency and he needs to be seen by a vet immediately if you have access to an emergency vet.

Ok good! Maybe he’s had a stomach ache today and he needed a good poop. Keep a close eye on him like you have been and try to get him eating hay. If he had gas maybe this helped some of it come out and he’ll be willing to eat again.

Also a good way to help with gas is massaging the tummy by placing your hands on both sides of his stomach and gently rocking it back and forth. In my experience, it has been pretty effective.

Poop is great. Is his appetite back to normal?

It does sound a lot like it was probably gas pain.  Can you describe his diet so we can see if there is something that might of caused it?

He eats oxbow Timothy hay and Oxbow pellets

I haven’t seen him eat yet but he is currently chewing on a willow stick

I was just curious about the amount of treats, etc since you mentioned banana a few times in your first post. Any veggies?

If you hold a strand of hay in front of his face will he take it?

He doesn’t get that much treats. Only a few times a week

veggies I give him romaine and kale and others greens sparingly

Did he eat kale before he started acting weird yesterday? That’s one that I believe can cause gas in some rabbits.
