  Hello all! I’m not sure if this is the best category to post this thread, so apologies if it’s not! Lol
  
  Anyway, older members will probably remember me, but for those of you who don’t know me, I have a mini dachshund (Snickers) and two, not bonded male rabbits, Loki and Finnegan. Finnegan is a feisty lionhead who isnt a fan of anybody, around 6-9 years old (based on what the previous owners told me) and Loki is a larger boy, I’m not sure his breed. He’s turning 3 I believe, I’ll have to check my calendar haha.
  
  My boyfriend and I bought our first home back in december, and my mother has been watching Loki and Finnegan for me at her house (where I used to live), up until today, since my timing belt blew on my car on the way to the closing of our house and I havent had a vehicle to travel back to get them. My mother made the little over 2 hour drive to deliver my babies and their belongings to me today, and I am so thankful to have them with me.
  
  I’m wanting to know how to make their adjustments to our new home easier. Finnegan is getting out of his carrier and exploring a little, but Loki is refusing to leave his carrier. He ate a little bit of pellets, but I’d feel safer if I could get him out and drinking, he’s been in there for about 9 hours now, including travel time. I am at work now, but my boyfriend will be home from work shortly to check in on them, and I’ll be checking on them when I get home in 6 hours. Neither of them are particularly treat motivated, I can barely get them to eat salads. They only like fresh dandelion flowers, but the 4 feet of snow outside means they are not in season lol. Anyway, any tips on making this less stressful for them?
  
  And also odor control tips would be great!   Moxie!!!! I still can’t get over the idea that you bought a house… o_O
  
  I think you’ll do with with setting them up in a smaller, quieter area until they get used to their new surroundings. You being there will obviously help. Once they have acclimated, you can start giving them more freedom.
  
  As for pee smell… hmm, not sure what kind of litter you use but wood stove pellets and pine pellets (Feline Pine, horse stall pellets, etc.) seem to cover up unpleasant smells pretty well.

  When I have had very scared fosters at my place I tend to let them stay in their carrier as long as they want, and I’ll just put some food and water by the entrance. Then I usually leave them to settle in on their own for a few days. Of course your bunnies have a relationship to you, so you might be more comfort to them.
  
  It’s now been a couple days though since you posted, how are they doing now?

  Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of response, it’s been a busy couple of days with work and snow storms! Lol
  
  Anyway, they are settling in just fine, I think I was just being overly nervous haha. They are eating and drinking normally, the only thing I have noticed is that Finnegan’s decided he can poop everywhere right now, but I assume that will calm down as they figure out this is their new home and he gets used to his bathroom being in a totally new area than where it’s been the last few years. I use pine shavings for litter, but I clean the soiled shavings out minimally once a day, but usually once in the morning and once at night when I get home from work. The boyfriend hasn’t complained about odor so I think we are in the clear.
  
  He’s not an animal person (being allergic and not being raised with them), but has been taking a liking to them. I prepackaged some treats (sliced up apples, carrots, etc.) So he can give them to the buns and he loves watching them chew their snacks. He is determined to make Finn like him which I think is cute. (Finn has what i hear is a typical feisty lionhead attitude. He hates being touched and will stomp his feet a lot if he’s unhappy with whatever you are doing haha). But they are doing well! They have their own bedroom they share that is divided with pens (with a few feet gap in between pens so they can’t interact through the bars). They are happy little stinkers.
