Possible new rabbit, date w/ current rabbit?

  Hi everyone,
  
  I have been contemplating adopting another rabbit to bond with my mini lop, Leo. I think Leo could really benefit from having a bonded mate as he has so much love to give and I think it could make him much happier. (Side note: I attempted to bond Leo in the past with my rabbit Ollie (who passed a few months ago), but it never really fully cemented so they just stayed neighbors in their ex pens for most of the time.) So my question is: does anyone have experience with bringing a current rabbit to meet with a possible new adoptee? From my research, it seems like this is the ideal thing when potentially considering the bonding process, but the rabbit I am considering is likely about a 30-45 minute drive away, so it does make it a bit more complicated in terms of stress and driving.
  
  Any thoughts or opinions? I have reached out to the rescue that I’ve found this lovely bunny at, so I am also planning on asking them their thoughts on bringing Leo along to meet her if I do end up visiting her foster home.

  I am a fan of bunny dating, but mostly just to make sure the buns don’t hate each other. However, with a long drive like that, Ollie might not really behave normally on the date.
  
  Would the rescue consider allowing you to foster the bun while working on bonding, with the understanding that if it didn’t seem a good match you would want to try a different bun?

  I took Louie to a bunny date to meet Lola, and the drive was about 30-45 minutes, but I had been working with him the past couple weeks getting him used to drives and such so he wouldn’t be too stressed on longer drives. In the end it was great and Lola ended up being a match, but I would definitely consider how your bunny reacts to the car and such.
