The bunnies have been wasting SO much hay. When I clean the litter box there’s always a thick layer of pee hay on top of the wood pellets. I use shower caddies as hay racks, but the bunnies go for one piece in particular and end up with a pile on their head… It’s funny but not ideal!

I’ve been looking at ideas online. I like the wooden box ones but I don’t want to hear them chewing it all night. Does anyone have experience with those? I’ve also seen using small plastic storage containers and cutting holes in them, then hooking them onto the pen. I’m concerned they may chew into the plastic and eat it, though. I’ve also seen hay bags but heard that it can cause hay pokes.

What have you guys had the best experiences with? I want something that’s easily accessible, doesn’t waste so much hay, and won’t be chewed (at least not dangerous to chew).
        Thank you!

I found this thing at a Ross that is mean to be a toilet paper roll holder that’s made of metal (like the kind that would sit on the ground to hold spare rolls), and it’s kind of a perfect hay rack.

It looks kind of like this one but without the tall part:

Here's a Great Deal on Modern Metal Freestanding Toilet Paper Roll Holder Stand and Dispenser with Storage for 3 Rolls of Reserve Toilet Tissue - for Bathroom Storage Organizing - Holds Mega

I also used a paper bag with a hole cut out of the bottom temporarily, and they surprisingly loved it.

I think something metal in structure, and then to make it more graze-worthy and not have huge holes that the hay just falls out, maybe get a thicker gauge chicken wire mesh or something to attach around/inside the structure.
