Hi, I have two bunnies, a male and female, who are both neutered and potty trained. They are also both free roam and live inside with our pit Bull and often go out in the garden. Recently, we did some renovations to our house so certain areas are now off limits to the buns and dog. Both of the rabbits also used to sleep on the bed with my partner and I but sometimes the male would dig and pee on the bed. This only occurred recently so I thought perhaps it was because I had been giving them treats on the bed. So since renovating, we’ve bought them their own bed (one of those cat beds with a hidey-hole and another cushion on the top) and placed it in the kitchen near their litter box and play area. However, since the first day of getting the bed, they have been peeing and pooping on the inside cushion and on the outside back of it. Because of this, my partner won’t allow them in the bedroom anymore in case they start peeing on the bed again. How can I stop them from peeing anywhere else besides the litter box?

This has saved my life. My bun Hades peed on my bed 2-3 times. I bought this and keep it shiny-side up, and he hasn’t even tried to pee since I got it! Not once! But even if he does, it’s waterproof (I tested it) so it wouldn’t soak through to any of the blankets underneath. 🙂 I think he doesn’t want to pee on it bc it doesn’t smell like me and it doesn’t feel soft and comfy (it feels slide-y on his feet). Highly recommend!

For the week-ish before this arrived in the mail, I was using a plastic shower curtain on top of all my blankets lol. Equally as effective, but more crinkly, less comfy, and gets full of moisture when you sleep under it (because, you know, breathing and all that). 0/10 recommend haha, but it works temporarily! Hades didn’t pee on the shower curtain either. Good luck!!

Lots of bunnies will pee on soft things, unfortunately, so they might just not be good candidates for having their own bed.
