Hi everyone, Bernard was laying with her feet out and I noticed a sore spot on her foot. Is it sore hocks? I don’t know how she got it, she doesn’t have a cage but I use a rug (pictured above) and blankets wherever she will be. She never walks on my hardwood floor.
Any advice would be appreciated 😊

Looks like a callous to me. Is it open? Bleeding?

She won’t let me look closer, I had to zoom up on my camera. It’s pink so I thought that means it’s open or at least rubbed raw? Or maybe that’s just her skin color. So if it’s just a callous that’s normal, right?

These things happen. Obviously, it’s better if a callous doesn’t form, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t start to become irritated. Sometimes people put bag balm or a similar ointment on the callous to soothe the area and keep it from cracking.
