Hello fellow bunparents! I’m a new bun mom my little Beatrice is 13 weeks old. I’ve been having trouble litter training her so I got her a new jumbo litter box and success she pooped in it right away! But I noticed her poop was abnormal and something I’ve never seen before. I read every forum and information page but I haven’t found any photos that quite match her droppings! Does anyone know what this means and can help a new mom out! Thank you so much! Have a wonderful day.

Very young buns can produce rather weird poop. This is because their gut microbiota is still immature. As the buns grows and eats lots of hay, the microbiota becomes sturdy and diverse.

Weird looking poop in a young bun is not considered a significant problem as long as there are still some round, well-formed poop and the bun is eating and has good energy. The best thing for normalising bunny poop is grass hay. You can also give a bunny- appropriate probiotic to help the gut get a good balance of microbes.

If you suspect she has a bit of gas, you can give simethicone baby gasdrops, 0.5-1 ml.

If she starts having really runny poop, like liquid poop, and/or poop with mucus in it and no formed poop at all, it is a veterinary emergency.

I agree with Bam. Also, the poop with the long tail looks like it may have hair in it.
