Hello, my bunny Trixie has some symptoms of a UTI including,

        • Frequent urination, but only in small amounts(kind of)
        • Urinary incontinence, especially during confinement or at places that are not customary (i.e., locations she has not peed before)
        • Her pee is a bit different in color too (cloudy yellow, orange, and sometimes red, I haven’t seen brown though)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           The red pee I am assuming could have been caused by the alfalfa hay I gave her yesterday but I am a little confused because I only gave her a very very small not even a handful as a treat. It may not be a UTI because we just moved 2 weeks ago and her litter habits (Mainly the peeing) have not been her usual.  She has been peeing both in the litter box and out of it. Also the water here has A LOT more minerals in it but we are using a water purifier but maybe the water is the problem? Trixie is also only 1 and spayed and I thought older rabbits are more prone but I guess that doesn’t mean she is not at risk. She is also not obese or over weight and her diet is healthy ( 2 tablespoons of Mana pro pro pellets a day, 2 handfuls of spring mix veggies a day,  a couple bits of dried papaya, 1 biscuit(pellets, oats, hay, banana, carrot) I also make the treats so there is no additives or anything  in them and unlimited hay. Also unlimited water of course.)I don’t know if she is just stressed or has a urinary tract infection. There is a “rabbit savvy” vet where I live but I’ve never gone there before. (Because we just moved 2 weeks ago)  Anyways anyone have any ideas what is up? Thank you.

Is she peeing on herself? As in, it seems to be uncontrollable, thus she is soiling her own fur/her legs? That would be a more clear sign that there is a problem.

Since you recently moved, I do wonder if this is just her marking the new territory? The color change, as long as it’s not blood, is most likely harmless. Healthy rabbit pee comes in a large array of colors between pretty clear/light yellow to dark orange/red. It could be the different composition of the water, or a combination of her diet staining it a certain way. One of my rabbits consistently has orange pee and that has never changed! Very normal and healthy still.

No, she is not peeing on her self but we did take her to the vet and she gave her baytril. I don’t think it would be territorial because I put a blanket and towel she loves very much and both have been chinned lots plus toys that have also been chinned and a litter box with plenty of markings on and in it. I did not know that normal rabbit pee can be all kinds of color but hers is very thick and super cloudy.(don’t know if that’s normal) Sadly Trixie is a bit on the heavier side so I have to back off on the pellets a bit and give her lots of exercise but overall the vet said Trixie is pretty healthy. If Trixie does not have a UTI will the antibiotic harm her?   Thanks so much!

Antibiotics can cause some gut disruption, so there might be some odd poops or gas discomfort. I think territory can still be a potential. Rabbit noses are much better than ours, and there’s even the idea of re-marking stuff obviously (chinning the same thing over and over again). Are the small frequent pees happening more outside the litter box? Rabbits like many animals find security in their entire area smelling like them, so beyond her litterbox, I wonder if she’s just following her instincts to get her scent “around” all places.

Okay and I definitely agree she could be marking over-again but wouldn’t she pee when she’s out for playtime? Yes the pee is mostly outside of the litterbox.

Also should I give her some gas drops? To help with gas if she gets it from the antibiotic.
