I wasn’t looking for a second and Pinky managed to jump into Muffin’s pen, squishing his hidey house a bit then went in his litter box and peed in it. I have blankets on top of the pens as the roof but Pinky decided today he would take the first big leap. Muffin just stayed in his house not caring and I used pellets to lure Pinky out. The x pens are about 30 inches tall by the way.

Pinky wants to live with Muffin now? Or just pee in his litter box? Has this happened to any of you during the bonding process?

Haha! This hasn’t happened to me, but I have heard of this happening, where the bunnies just decide they want to be together and the owner finds them cuddling in one rabbit’s pen. It is very positive that they both went into the hidey house and there were no fights!

LOL it’s cute though. I cover the walls of the pen of the other bunny with blankets when one bunny is out. They both keep lifting up the blankets to see the other bunny. It’s funny they just want to say hi but I don’t allow it! They’ve been more determined with this since I started bonding sessions.

He went in there so casually… I was starting to think maybe I forgot that I cage swapped them when I peeked in and saw Pinky peeing in the litter box. But I knew I heard a big crash of Pinky making his landing on the hidey house lol. They’re so funny.

So yesterday I put them in the pen in my room I set up to be new. Nothing in their behaviour really changed. They were excited to be with each other and both wanted grooming.

I think there may have been one nip from Pinky on Muffin’s butt early on but it can be hard to tell. I decided to do 24 hours since they seem to be doing well together. They’ve been grooming each other and cuddling and eating hay together. Sometimes sharing a litter box (Pinky jumps into Muffin’s).

Should I extend the session to 48 hours? I was going to end it at 12:30pm today. But I feel like it’s going good and I should just get to that 48 hours and move them in together. Also do I need to make new hidey houses and other things for the permanent home?

Also, today they’ve been wanting to get out cause I usually let them out in the morning. I feel bad!

Actually, if I do 48 hours it’ll have to end at like 9:15am tomorrow for the vet at 9:30am. So that’s missing about three hours. Hmmmm… And I’m not sure what that will change with each other, they’re gonna be smelling different. I could put them in the same carrier? I don’t want to ruin what they have right now though.

They’re eating lettuce out of each other’s mouths without fighting lol!

*jealously reading* Am I going to be reading about another easy bond while my ladies are still not bonded? 😯 😆 This is all just so unfair! 😆

I’m glad your boys love each other. 😀 You are doing an excellent job at bonding them too! 😉

Thank you HipHopBunny! I’m sure your buns will come around eventually. 😀 Muffin is licking Pinky’s back as I’m typing lol!

They were snuggling and Pinky decided to flop right beside Muffin! It warms my heart. My two rescue bunnies love each other! I’m glad they’re happy. They keep grooming each other. So lovey dovey!

Honestly they’ve been doing so wonderfully, you would prob be fine to just keep going. Since you haven’t had any problems when moving to new locations (or really at all), my hunch is that it’s going to be smooth sailing. Def take them in the same carrier to the vet, that will be extra cementing!

When you move them to their final home, either give new hidey houses, or remove them at first and add them in once you are confident they are settled and happy.

Thanks! 😆 Now I just hope they’ll still love each other after the vet tomorrow. I definitely got lucky picking these two boys to bond.

Thanks DanaNM for all your tips! You’ve helped me a lot. 🙂 I hope they’ll fit in the carrier lol. Might be squished!
