        Hi guys!

I got a new bun last night her name is Esther. She seems very curious and confident, and has no problem coming right up to you and poking her head through her pen bars. She was eating right away and hasn’t had any accidents (apart from a few lil poops).

When she’s sticks her face at me I take that as wanting pets, so I pet her gently on her forehead. When I do this she just melts. Is this a good thing?

Here’s a pic (sorry they’re fuzzy and at an odd angle)

After I stop petting her she gets back up after a few seconds then continues playing with her toys or whatever else.

She also made a noise a couple times as I was petting her that sounded almost like the noise she makes when she’s eating. I know she wasn’t though. Is this a tooth purr?

Is it too soon to pet her? She seems to like it cause when I stop she comes back after a few minutes for more.

        Thanks guys!

She looks very content! 😉 My ladies will sometimes make that position when I pet them too, cutest little things. 🙂 Tooth purrs do sound like they are eating, so that is another sign of joy. Have you found the spot where she likes to be rubbed the most yet? 😉

Sounds like everything is going we for you both :).

Those definitely sound like bunny purrs if its similar to the sound of her munching on some hay. In the picture it looks like she is lowering her head closer to the ground while you pet her. It is definitely a sign she is enjoying the pets, a sign of trust and it is not too early. As long as she is coming to you or sticking her head out for pets just keep doing what your doing :).

It’s definitely a good thing. 🙂  If she is asking for pets, feel free to give them freely and liberally!

She sounds a lot like Bun Jovi (my senior!), he was very demanding of pets immediately and flattens out like that. He did it the day I met him at the shelter and it was all I could do to not scoop him up right then and bring him home with me in my sweatshirt pocket. 🙂

It sounds like she is happy and wants to be pet. Some bunnies will seek out attention like that. I’m glad she has become comfortable with you so quickly.

Yay that’s great!! Not sure where she prefers being pet cause she’ll let me pet her anywhere. She’ll close her eyes when I give her cheek and forehead rubs and she’ll purr when she gets full body pets.
