I assume this change from darker to light poops is because I bought Kaytee Timothy hay after I ran out of my Oxbow Timothy hay. I just wonder what in the nutrients of the hay causes this? 🤔 And does it mean he’s getting less or more or something he needs? Same thing happened with Pinky but not as dramatic as a difference, and his are typically darker than Muffin’s. Here’s a pic from Muffin’s litter box. Also Pinky has been having a lot of big poops, not sure why. Could be from shedding but one of them I broke open just had a bunch of hay. Being a bunny parent can be weird LOL… Also I’ll be getting hay from a farm feed store which is a mixture of a bunch of kinds of hay. So I expect the poops to change again… With new hay types do I introduce slowly?

Nothing to worry about, it’s normal. Mine get really golden poops when I give them oat hay.

And you can just switch between grass hays, no need to slowly transition.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be concerned. Different hay (even if it’s the same type) can cause the poo to change color.

Thanks everyone! 😆 Yeah this hay is more hard and rough, the Oxbow had more soft pieces. Gotta be something to do with that. More fibre?

Also thanks rabbitlover908, it took me a while to decide what to call them! 🙂
