Hi everyone! Now that Louie and Lola live together, we want to expand their pen, so we were thinking to add on another xpen. I recently saw someone’s diy rabbit pen however, and it is so cute! It’s basically made of a bunch of panels that connect, and the panels are made of a wood frame and chicken wire. Would this work for rabbits? It might be fun to build them something cute instead of adding on another xpen, and I really enjoy working with my hands.

Sure, it would work I think. 🙂  I love the look of those homemade enclosures, they’re very cute. I just went the other direction, took Oscar’s old (store bought) run apart, got rid of all the wood and put the metal grids back together as a makeshift x-pen. The run was bulky and hard to deal with when I was cleaning. Also, the bunnies will most likely chew on the wood, so after a while it probably won’t look as nice. It might not be the most practical solution, but I guess that largely depends on how it’s built. So yeah, if you have a good design, I think it could be great! 🙂

Cool! I’ll probably look online for the materials and visit a hardware store and look around, if the homemade route is significantly more expensive, I’ll just opt for another xpen and “cute” it all up. Most of our bunny stuff is DIY or repurposed, so I bet I can work something cute out.
