Dorian is all in all a pretty chill bun, sirens or thunder… who cares, crows going crazy at the feeder mere feet away from him… usually just flops right under the feeder, but yesterday I brought out my water can to water the plants on his deck. He thumped several times (he is not a thumper), ran in crazy circles & would not calm down for like 5 minutes. I set it down right away and eventually coaxed him to sniff it, after which he thumped some more. I can go back to just using the pitcher and refilling it a bunch of times like I was doing before, but i am confused why the watering can is such a source of terror?

Who knows, haha. Rabbits can be oddly curious about and afraid about random things, similar to dogs and cats who can have their own quirks. Eventually, extinction should kick in and after realizing the watering can isn’t going to lash out and attack him, the fear reaction should settle down. Since it’s something not always in his environment, it might not be for a while, but it’ll get there. And if it doesn’t, it doesn’t sound like too stressed of a fear response, so it could be tolerable.

My Fable gets nervous when I move a table a couple inches from where it usually is, haha. Rabbits can be sensitive.

Thanks @Wick ! I have never quite seen him react that way, I was worried he was going to hurt himself as he was running about so erratically. I just didn’t know if there were certain things that commonly set off buns so I can be more cautious. Had a cat who absolutely hates black boots with shoelaces, so if this is just some random Dorian specific phobia then I’ll just take it from there. So far all the things I thought he would be freaked out about he hasn’t been so was more just shocked this set him off.
