Considering their weight, probably not a shoulder one. Wick is 2lb and Fable is 5lb, and I already have to two arm them in their carrier, haha. I can’t imagine with two bigger rabbits.
A deciding factor can be both of their behaviors toward fabric. If either are inclined to chew fabric when frustrated, a soft-sided one may not be wise.
Another factor is the actual temperament of the rabbits, as well as general safety. I do follow a handful of instagram accounts where their rabbits are in cute baskets in the front seat or an open carry purse. That is fine for rabbits who won’t jump or want to explore after acclimating to a car-ride, I suppose. Regarding safety though, nothing beats having something that completely covers them and can be fastened in. The thought of my rabbits launching out because we unexpectedly hit the brakes or worse is enough to make me very sickly… so I am a hard-sided kennel person.
That being said, if it’s a non-car travel for a relatively short time, I think whatever balances your comfort and their comfort is fine.
