        Wilbur seems to breath really loud, I attached a video (hopefully you can see it). Does this seem loud or is it normal? I took him to the vet about 2 months ago and they thought it was an upper respiratory infection. They gave him antibiotics and those didn’t help at all. He still has a runny nose, loud breathing (in my opinion), and periodically sneezes. Do you think this is a upper respiratory infection? Should I be overly concerned? What’s the worst that could happen if this is left untreated?

          @Wilburbunny

          I find that odd that the antibiotics for the respiratory infection did not cure it. My rabbit OB had a respiratory infection just a few months ago and the medicine they gave cleared it up pretty quickly. All of the things you described sounded like one. Has he been looking up? If he starts looking up then definitally take him to the vet asap. For when buns look up it means they are having lots of trouble breathing. Otherwise though, I don’t know what else it could be. Hopefully someone else who knows will respond.

          I wish you the very best of luck. 🙂

            Thanks hiphopbunny! No, he hasn’t been looking up thank goodness. I really wish those meds had worked, they were so darn expensive😫 My mom was looking it up and said it might be something with his teeth? He’s just really young so I didn’t think that sounded right…

              I’m not really hearing anything in the video.

              If one antibiotic doesn’t work, then there is no harm in trying another one. Sometimes the bacteria is resistant to certain families of antibiotics. If a different antibiotic still doesn’t help, then it may be time to start thinking about chronic problems like tooth roots. Elongated tooth roots can cause chronic irritation in the sinuses, which results in a persistent “stuffy nose”.
