        I’m wondering if you guys feed your bunnies on a schedule? I have recently been waking up between 8-10am. Sometimes if I don’t sleep well, or I sleep too late, I’ll wake up in the afternoon. Should I feed veggies in the morning, pellets in the afternoon, then the rest of the veggies at night? Or would it be better to do all the veggies in the morning and then pellets at night? I might not always be here during the afternoon. But I also wake up in the afternoon sometimes, so I would miss the morning veggies. Not sure what to do. Veggies in the afternoon then pellets at night? Lol someone help… I don’t work or go to school (I do online school) so I don’t have a set schedule. I just make sure I wake up in time for my repeating appointments.

          At the end of the day, rabbits have hay, and that should actually make up the majority of the food consumed in a day. Whether you start with veggies, pellets, or a mixture doesn’t really matter! The one thing I caution rabbit owners against is having too many meals in the day. Two is the norm, and I think is the most appropriate— any more than that and you risk dissuading a rabbit from eating hay because it’s getting fed veggies/pellets frequently throughout the day.

            @Moonlightbunny66

            I do my buns twice a day and break up the portions of pellets and veggies into two to give at both times. I do them in the morning when  I wake up, and in the evening around 5-6 p.m. It is great how you are planning ahead and making sure everything works smoothly, your buns are going to be so lucky to have you, and very spoiled 😉 You are going to be an excellent bunny mom. 🙂

              I don’t have a strict schedule, I just feed some greens and pellets around 8-9 am, sometimes later if I noticed Louie hasn’t eaten much hay that night, then I feed them again at 7-9 ish, they just eat hay, so if the time window fluctuates a little it’s totally fine. I also replenish their hay at those times and any time I notice it’s running low.

                @Wick Thank you! Good to know, I’ll stick with two meals. 🙂

                Thanks! That’s really nice of you to say. 😊 I just want them to be happy and healthy buns.

                Thank youu! Good info, it would be better for me to have a little bit of fluctuating times if I need to!

                  Yes I agree with Wick that you don’t have to worry too much as long as they always have access to hay and water!

                  I feed pellets in the morning, and greens at night. Usually those are at 7am and 7pm, but if we’re out to dinner or with friends at night the greens can bee much later/earlier and same with the pellets for wakeup time. They adapt pretty easily 🙂 Also if you get on TOO strict a schedule your bunnies will start harassing you at the time of day for feedings, they really have an uncanny sense of time!

                    @ThorBunny Oh good! Thanks! Yeah I was thinking about that lol. We feed my cats at about the same times everyday but they still bug us hours before their dinner! And meow in the hallway in the morning until someone feeds them lol. I wonder if the buns will be like this. 😆
