Hi, it’s me again. I’ve jumped on here again because I’ve found big clumps of my girls fur around my bonded rabbits hutch. They’ve been bonded for 9 months now and although humping is a regular occursnce between the two of them ( never escalates past humping and neither of them care other than hopping away if they’ve had enough). Both are neutered and have been prior to bonding. Although I’ve found a bit of fur here and there never the amount I’ve found the last two days. Does anyone know what it may be? And how to correct the problem? Sorry for the length of the post I just wanted to make sure I include all details.

        TIA x

The first is the possibility it sounds like you’re wondering about, which is whether one rabbit is pulling out the fur of the other. If this is a possibility,  they may be having a tiff in their bond they might require some assistance if it’s not worked out. Be observant and notice if this may be the cause.

Another cause could be a heavy molt. Does the fur your finding come from a rabbit who is going through a heavy molt right now? If so, it is very important that you thoroughly brush the rabbit every day until the molt ends to assist and make sure that excessive fur isnt digested, leading to a blockage.

Hi I de molt mostly everyday. I brush and then go over with my hands to see if there’s any loose I can get out. I think the probability is fur pulling and having been with them most days for the majority of the day I haven’t seen any tiffs. I will however keep a close eye and maybe do a session in a neutral area to see if this settles down. Thankyou for the reply I appreciate it a lot
