        Hi Everyone!

My 3 year old female spayed rabbit, Fiona, has found a new interest in the top corner of my bed. In the past two weeks, she jumps up, rips the sheets, digs, and pees. Every time I notice she is up there I make her get down, and when I leave the room she just jumps right back up. I can deal with the ripped sheets- it’s not the end of the world to me. Recently she has started to pee on the bed. I wash the sheets, blankets, comforter and duvet every time (I am a little tired of waiting 2-3 days for them to dry- thanks tiny apartment dryer) just to put them back on and have her pee on them again within the same day. I do not understand this new behavior of hers, please help!

This can just be an idea she got in her head. Rabbits often like peeing on soft things. A bed is attractive because it smells of the favorite human.

I had bun that got this idea when he had been neutered for 2 years. With him, it was the sofa. I blocked it off so he didnt have access to it. It was impractical, but after a couple of weeks he seemed to have forgotten all about the sofa, and when I unblocked it, he didnt go up there again.

You can also try covering your bed with a plastic shower curtain. It’s not as nice to hop on and pee on as fabric. And it’s very easy to clean, which is a big plus. I would recommend getting two, so you always have a dry one ready.

Peeing on beds is not an indication of a health problem in buns.
