My bunny has been friendly and calm ever since we got her. Until last night I made that rabbit toy with a kitchen roll and hid snacks (pellets) in it. She seemed to have lost her temper really quickly and started throwing the toy around like a cat trying to kill a mouse. She also aggressively digs at the toy. Is that frustration? Am I not feeding her enough if she’s that crazed by food?

Bunnies can have what we would describe as “temper tantrums” when they are frustrated. If she knew pellets were in the toy, but couldn’t get them out, I could see her becoming frustrated. How old is she? And is she spayed yet? Hormones can contribute to the frustration as well.

She’s two months old and not spayed yet. If it’s a temper tantrum then I actually feel a bit better. I was worried that she would become aggressive with everything like I unlocked a new personality or something.

Nah, I’m sure she was just taking her frustrations out on the toy. 🙂  Two months old is a bit young to be hormonal. When she starts to mature, you may notice more behaviors that might be perceived as aggression.

I completely agree with LBJ. She knows theres good stuff in there but she cant quite figure out yet how to get them out. Very good exercise for her! She gets to use both her brain and her body; cleverness, coordination, finer motor skills with muscles and teeth.
