Often times i’ll enter my room where my bun free roams, and sometimes he’ll come up to me, and sometimes he’ll run away in a skittish fashion, and I was wondering if he is trying to play or if he is scared?

I know Dorian often get’s spooked when I go in the room, he usually then makes his way back if I call him or he realizes it’s me and not some big monster. He does sometimes do some excited running into his tunnels, which feel more like showing off, he really likes an audience 😀 He tends to turn and make sure I am watching and then run back and check in. How does Louie behave after he’s ran off, does he just sit there looking nervous for a bit? Or come running back to you? I don’t think buns enjoy the whole chase things like cats and dogs can, but he’s my first one so not much experience!

he tends to run away when I enter the room, and then he usually just comes back to me. I assume he is just startled by my presence but comes back when he realizes it’s me.

I bet that’s it! They are prey animals so being on the jumpy side is a survival instinct, the fact he comes back means he thinks you are safe 🙂 .
