My rabbit found out how to hop onto the window ledge, and now zoomies around then hops onto the sill, runs across, then zooms back down again. Is this safe, because although I don’t mind him hopping on there in his free roam time, if it is very unsafe I would like to bunny proof it.

My Fable’s favorite spot to lounge is one of our low window sills and the area right below it. She does not zoomy on it though.

I think, just like any other area of your house, it is up to you to survey that area and assess if it’s rabbit safe. Is the ledge high enough that if a fall were to happen, it would be dangerous? For my Fable, the ledge is only 6in off the ground, so I am not concerned about her safety; however, every home structure is different!

Louie’s xpen is placed right next to the windowsill, and is taller in height, so most of the ledge is covered and he can’t fall, in the one spot where he could potentially fall, I placed a cardboard hidey house he likes to hop on so if he needs to hop down the box is there for him. On the side he hops on from there is his box of hay, so he can easily get up and down from both sides. Its a fun and safe run now. 🙂

@Wick I love the idea of Fable snoozing in the sun on the windowsill! So cute! 🙂
