Oakley has been through a few trays in the 5 weeks I’ve had him… first was a cat tray – small and not high sided so didn’t last. Next was a container I cut down but he struggled to get in that. Next was a corner one – but he ate the paper litter I was using at the time!And he wouldn’t eat any hay at all in a hay ball or feeder.So I decided I needed a grilled tray – so I could put hay in his tray ( I hate the idea of him eating hay from a tray without a grill as it would have been sitting in his urine and poop) and I needed the grill to stop him eating litter … so he now has a jumbo scatterless lock and litter. I also switched to wood pellets. I am considering having to change him to a cat box though as he spends a lot of time sleeping on his tray ( eve though he has about 4 other bed set ups in his cage and pen ) on the grill… which I don’t like. But I’m not sure as the grilled one stops him making a mess- keeps his hay free of urine- and stops him eAting the litter …. dunno
