Hi everyone! My new rescue Edgar is 3 years old Rex mix. I’ve had him for about 2 weeks, and he is set in his ways. The rescue had issues getting him to eat ANYTHING and had to use critical care a few times to make sure he didn’t go into stasis until they found out he will only eat Kaytee Fiesta pellets and alfalfa hay ?. when I say I’ve tried it all I mean I’ve tried it all to get him to eat literally any other type of hay.. we’ve done orchard, Timothy, orchard Timothy blend, oat, meadow, herbs and Timothy, mashing banana in his hay, put his pellets in his hay, I mean everything! I can’t switch his pellets until he eats hay because he obviously needs fiber in his diet and I think he would literally starve himself into stasis. I’ve never been at this much of a loss for getting a bun on hay, it’s literally part of my job ? does anyone else have ANY IDEAS at all!! It’s killing me feeding him Fiesta and it literally ripped my soul out buying a bag of alfalfa last night?? he won’t even eat fresh veggies, or grass I’m literally going insane… please help me!!!
