I have a female 18 month old Holland Lop, I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. At 8 months old I gave her 2 small bites of banana and she got diarrhea so I didn’t give her any for another month, once I gave her some a second time she had the same results. Now at 18 months I gave her banana and she has no problems anymore, she loves banana. I have now been giving her some for 2 weeks with no issue. I know bananas can make her fat, what is the maximum amount to give her? so far I only give them to her as a evening treat while we watch tv, I cut 2 round slices and then cut them in small cubes and she will eat them out of my hand. she is a free roam bunny in a 4 bedroom home and get’s exercise as she binkys every night at 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. she also hops around the house daily as she likes too explore too see if there is anything new. She really only lays around from noon to 6 p.m. and does her deep sleep from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. and then again from 2:30 a.m. until 5 a.m.
thanks for any suggestions and info on this.
Also I do not give her the banana peel.
