First things first… if you haven’t separated the male and female yet, do so ASAP. Rabbits do not go into “heat”. Mating is what triggers ovulation. That means females can become pregnant almost immediately after giving birth.
As for the frantic nesting, it isn’t unusual for first time mothers to be confused. I’m assuming she didn’t have much of a nest built before the babies were born. Give her a box with a hole cut in the side, leaving a lip at the bottom of the “doorway” so the babies cannot fall out. Move the nest and babies to this box. Feeling more secure may help calm her down. It’s unlikely there are still more babies, but it doesn’t hurt to consult a vet.
Since we are a house rabbit forum, very few members have experience with mothers and babies. If you have specific questions regarding the babies and their care, Rabbits Online is a forum that offers that type of information.
