So I found a half eaten dryer sheet (used) on the floor. I noticed because Ollie was giving me kisses on my nose and his breath smelled like detergent. I was like WTF. I look on the floor near the washer, and find a totally chewed up dryer sheet with no leftover pieces laying around so… I am 99% sure he ingested it. I already freaked out and cried and texted our vet. It is 11:43pm right now so I know I won’t be able to bring him in until tomorrow.

I just want some piece of mind. has this ever happened to any of you?

I’m not giving him anything to eat other than hay and water tonight (which he is chowing down as we speak) I mean he is really going to town on this hay. So thats good. Hes drinking water, pooping and peeing too. I’m just worried that he gets sick later when the sheet starts to “digest”? I’m not even sure if thats how this works. I hope the fact he is eating and drinking right now is enough to know that he’ll be okay.

Sorry for the super long explanation.. I’m just a worried bunmom

Oh my gosh! Bunnies get into everything, Don’t they!? I wouldn’t worry though! If he is eating, drinking and behaving normally he should be okay until tomorrow.

The good thing is that when a bunny eats non food items they chew very carefully. Dogs tend to swallow stuff whole, but buns don’t.
If he stops eating or pooping or the poops become very small and sparse, you should contact a vet, but otherwise don’t beat yourself up! I think they go out of their way to make us worry about them!

You did good about just giving hay and water. The fiber will force things along fast. Dryer sheets are very toxic because of the chemicals in them unless you bought and organic kind, then they wouldn’t be as bad. How is he doing now?

                Update!!
It’s like if he never ate it, he’s been acting normal so I’m assuming he’s fine. I’m pretty surprised because the amount of dryer sheet he ate was a lot! Thank you guys for your comments

I call Indie a garbage disposal or a billy goat.  The amount of  things I have that she has eaten that I have found out about after the fact… I am glad he seems ok!
