I’ve had Bella for almost 8 years now, and up until now she hasn’t displayed any of these behaviors. She is spayed, and she will be 10 years old in a few weeks.
She’s recently started making sort of a buzzing/humming sound when she runs around and binkies or is excited for a treat (so I assume that it is just a happy sound).
She’s also started chasing me or like sort of half lunging at me when I stand up to leave the room. The other day I was picking up a few stray poo pellets, and she without warning ran up and bit my wrist and ran away. She has also of the last couple of weeks has peed on the couch 3 times, including this morning when she was digging at the blanket on the couch and while she was digging she just started peeing. Additionally, there have been a few occasions where she just leaves a pile of poo pellets where ever she was sitting (like 5-10).
Before then she’s only had one accident, about 3 or 4 years ago. Other than these few things she’s in good health, she’s hopping around as usual, eating and using the bathroom normally (in her litter box). I’m wondering if these behaviors indicate some sort of illness, her being territorial, or just a symptom of her getting older. And how can I encourage her to only use her litter box to relieve herself.
Any insight is greatly appreciated!
